In a first phase developed to be 'transparent' and fully integrated with the previous diagnostic system, now it has been fully redesigned and reprogrammed.
The benefit is a drastic cut-down in the time and number of cycles required for the definition of basic diagnostic.
Now, the solution is fully integrated with X3AUTHORING and the Software Distribution infrastructures.

Already included on the Huayra Roadster BC and available on the entire family of Huayra models, L.E.O. will:
“We are proud that today we can celebrate such a milestone, together with the Pagani team, and that we have provided our own contribution to bringing the concept of the Connected Car to a new level. With L.E.O. we faced one of our toughest challenges, requiring us to imagine what the future would be like and turn it into reality shortly afterwards. For While1 being a leader means accomplishing something that others only have in their thoughts” – Franco Ometti, CEO While1.
Implemented for Fiat Group, the system enables full integration of the diagnostic toolset Fiat Examiner with Chrysler`s equivalent Witech. This result has proven fundamental for the success of Fiat’s integration process with the Detroit giant, in that it ensures the ability to perform the programming and diagnosis of the entire vehicle fleet using both tools.
Ecu Manager enables the alignment of the FGA (Fiat Group) to the European standards UE 715/2007 and 692/2008 that regulate the programming and diagnostic of vehicle control units.
The solution is comprised of a client component (developed in Java on JNLP technology) and of a central enterprise application for the distribution of information for programming/diagnostic and for the latest firmware updates.
Thus it is possible to program and configure all vehicle control units of the Fiat Group by means of a standard PC and of any VCI that is compatible with the ISO standard 22900 (dPduApi).
Enables Abarth to control and optimize the entire sales process of the SuperSport kit. The system is built by three different operating environments.
Every tool sent to the authorized dealers is first registered at the main server by coupling its serial number to the recipient (dealer). Upon arrival, the tool will require a first “one-off” activation. This consists of the following steps:
This mutual exchange is mandatory, unless a central intervention is required in case of parts replacement or operator error.
At every connection, the tool (in its full configuration) verifies its own updates, both concerning the basic software and the firmware for the ECU.
System software components
On the server are located all the basic services available to the Netbook (dealer) applications for the implementation and management of the functions that process the dealer’s operational and control data.
On the NetBook the entire man-machine interface will be available to execute all the software processes planned for the kit.
The VCI is the brain of the system. Since this is intelligent (Linux based), we have ported into it many of the functionalities required for the implementation of the flash processes, as well as everything concerning the interaction with the ECU.
Analysis and implementation of a client/server application that enables FIAT AUTO to transfer data between every authorized dealer worldwide and the HQ’s IT facilities.
The result is a file transfer, as well as several ancillary services, with a level of stability and performance that guarantees non-stop service.
Actually, approx. 6000 authorized dealers worldwide.
The client has been developed in order to provide a DLL library that could be used either in native mode or integrated into the old DCS system without requiring any change. The server part has been developed in the framework of the E-Link system that only allows the use of the PHP language.
In order to allow a dynamic connectivity and the use of multiple application communication protocols, the server can manage both connectivity and communication requirements through the use of a Dynamic Application Engine. This component processes the required algorithms using dynamically loaded States Machines and/or Work Flows, depending upon the type of connected application.
The project was implemented in cooperation with Bosch and consists in a tool for tracking and filtering of the data traffic on the VCI of the California-based supplier. It is possible to monitor the traffic according to filter rules or activation thresholds.
The system enables the management of both local and remote repositories and it currently controls millions of transit files. The use of information and configuration functions is enabled through a web interface placed on the VCI itself, without the need for an external PC.
WHILE1 developed the complete application, using own Linux Kernel WMTK.
